Located on the edge of the "Odenwald" forest and at the foot of a wine-growing region, the city of Darmstadt is well-known for its late 19th century architecture, "art nouveau", and represents today a prominent cultural centre. Visit some examples of art nouveau architecture such as the Artists' Colony on the Mathildenhöhe, go on a guided tour of the Hessian State Museum or visit Burg Frankenstein, where ghost parties are held today.
